Configurations of Desire in Premodern Literature
is an international network of eighteen scholars investigating how desire was expressed in literature in pre-modern Europe, from Classical Antiquity to the seventeenth century. This interdisciplinary project is sponsored by the Swedish Riksbankens Jubileumsfond (RJ), an independent foundation with the goal of promoting and supporting research in the Humanities and Social Sciences. Research results were published in book form in 2013: Pangs of Love and Longing: Configurations of Desire in Premodern Literature, Cambridge Scholare Publishing, ISBN 978-1-4438-4763-6.
